I’ll continue with another premium price product. This time, I recommend you with a brand new brand called ROYAL CANIN.
Royal Canin diabetic cat food is made mainly from natural cereal to reduce hyperglycemia in your pet. It also contains L-carnitine to promote lean muscle and reduce body fat and most importantly, it is Glyco-balanced. It is very crucial that you control your cats’ blood sugar by avoiding them from getting food containing too much glucose or high carbohydrate ingredients.
Raising diabetic cats comes with great responsibility, you will have to be careful with everything that you want to feed your cat. Royal Canin must know this problem very well and they have done great in making delicious good food for cats suffering diabetes. My cat, Judy is a very picky one and she doesn’t seem to like switching to any other brands aside from Purina but Royal Cannin is an exception. There’s a small downside about this product. Although Royal Cannin diabetic cat food is made for both kittens and adults cats, the kibble is quite big, young kittens and cats with small size may have trouble when eating it. If your cats struggling to eat them, you can break them into smaller pieces so your cats can easily enjoy their meal.

10. Hill’s Prescription Diet m/d Feline Glucose/Weight Management – Chicken Flavor – 8.5lb
The final product I want to talk about is pretty much the same to the last Hill’s diabetic cat food reviewed in the previous part. However, the one that I am going to talk about is glucose and weight management product for a cat suffering from diabetes.
Hill’s Prescription Diet m/d Feline Glucose/Weight Management has every feature that appears in Hill’s M/D Weight Loss Diabetic Cat Food. Besides, it is clinically tested to control glucose levels in diabetic cats.
This product has a fairly affordable price, it cost about 60 bucks for a big bag of 8.5 lb of cat food. This can be enough for the whole month if you only have one cat at home. I don’t know what to say more about this product because it has almost everything similar to the Hill’s M/D Weight Loss Diabetic Cat Food. For those who get confused when figuring about the differences between these two products, I would simply put that this one is glucose-balanced. Maybe that’s why they are $10 more expensive than the Hill’s M/D Weight Loss Diabetic Cat Food. In addition, cats with diabetes are not supposed to consume anything that makes them raise the blood sugar, Hill’s has paid good attention when included that the detail into this product.
For me, it is a worth-buying product as it satisfies every need of a typical diabetic cat and it is not so smelly as well.
Once your cats are diagnosed with diabetes they will need a certain dietary restriction and it’s not a piece of cake for owners to change their eating habit. Cat owners must be more careful in feeding your fluffy buddies in order to help them maintain good health and a lean body. Cats are usually quite picky so make sure you change their food regularly so they won’t skip any meal. Remember that cats having diabetes means fewer carbohydrate ingredients in their meal but you still have to provide them with a suitable amount of protein. So next time you go shopping for your loving cats, remember to carefully read about the ingredients on the cover of any cat food that you intend to get for your cats. I hope the 10 suggestions above can help you in the journey of finding your cats best nutritious food or at least narrow down the choices you have to make among a bunch of different kinds of diabetic cat food.
